Easy-to-use Patient Specific Endovascular Simulation

Mentice was First – History of Mission Rehearsal

Mentice was the first company in the world to ever perform endovascular patient specific simulation, for the high-risk procedure of carotid stenting in 2004 and 2005.1,2,3

Today, this exciting technology lives on and has evolved into our state-of-the-art VIST® Case-It technology – a unique solution that creates a Mentice simulation case from existing patient anatomies with only a few clicks.

  • Teach post-procedure – re-enact the experience
  • Practice treatment options

Ultimately, it can be used as a warm-up or rehearsal before an actual procedure. VIST® Case-It eliminates the learning curve by interfacing with the user’s existing segmentation workstation. It allows building an expansive library of varying cases.

Our Vision

Simulation plays an increasingly important role in medical education settings, certification and recertification. Clinical practice curriculae change over time and the needs differ between settings and regions.  VIST® Case-It is the first step in a comprehensive environment that allows creation of individualized training cases and content.

  • Match your content to your specific need
  • Customize your cases to learner levels
  • Train the team for complex anatomies

How it Works

VIST® Case-It technology harnesses the power of professional segmentation tools. This ensures the highest possible quality of the 3D reconstruction using market leading and clinically proven workstations.

  • VIST® Case-It is compatible with your existing workstation software
  • Use original patient data from CTA or MR scans
  • Perform vessel segmentation on your station – users are already well versed in their own stations
  • Segmented anatomy is imported to VIST® Case-It
  • Template is used to “stitch” imported anatomy to create complete vasculature (even if the original CT data is limited to only a part of the patient’s anatomy)

Case-It Certified

Mentice relies on existing, professional and FDA approved third-party segmentation solutions to provide accurate 3D models for reconstruction with VIST® Case-It. Thanks to this, our clients are free to use segmentation software they are already familiar with and avoid the lengthy process of having to learn new tools. To ensure that the output data from all these different segmentation tools will always work reliably in the simulator, we have launched the VIST® Case-It Certified program.
