The 2021 SNIS Live Sessions will be modeled after the wildly popular 2018 and 2019 SNIS Live Sessions events. The goal will be to showcase novel technology by experts on case specific flow models and virtual models developed by Mentice/Vascular Simulations. Industry partners will be approached to partner on providing devices for the simulated cases and financial support for the event.

Each session will consist of one moderator and three operators:

Moderator: Dynamic speaker introducing the session, relaying live virtual audience questions to the operator, challenging the operator, and closing the session with discussion and comments.

Operator: Expert user of the device actively narrating the rationale for use of the device, demonstrating the technical nuances of using the device, and responding to questions from the moderator and audience both in person and at home. A single slide will be prepared by each operator to display during the live demonstration. While one operator is performing, the next operator is setting up his/her system. In this way, the presenters will flip back forth with the next group setting up while one group is presenting.

The third operator in each group will perform the procedure first on a flow model (10 minutes) then will perform the procedure virtually with the same anatomy and catheters to evaluate and demonstrate this increasingly useful and realistic additional form of training or teaching a procedure or technique.
